Course Times

Course Content

Day 1, 2 and 3 – Foundation Level

• Introduction
• Key concepts, aspects and characteristics of projects
• PRINCE2® principles
• Tailoring guidelines
• PRINCE2® themes – Business Case, Organisation, Quality, Plans, Risk, Change, Progress
• PRINCE2® processes – Starting up, Directing, Initiating, Controlling, Managing product delivery, Managing stage boundary, Closing
• Preparation for Foundation Exam

Day 4 and 5 – Practitioner Level

• Apply PRINCE2® principles in context
• Apply and tailor relevant aspects of PRINCE2® themes in context
• Demonstrate an understanding of PRINCE2® requirements, recommended roles and responsibilities, approaches, key concepts and procedures
• Assess whether an approach to applying the themes, project process activities/actions, roles and responsibilities are effective and fit for purpose, taking into consideration: the context, the PRINCE2® principles, the purpose and requirements of the themes, and the purpose and objectives of the processes
• Carry out the project process activities, demonstrating an understanding of recommended associated actions, roles and responsibilities, and how the themes may be applied
• Preparation for Practitioner exam

Foundation Level:

• Understand key concepts relating to projects and PRINCE2® (Projects in Controlled Environments)
• Understand how the PRINCE2® principles underpin the PRINCE2® method
• Understand the PRINCE2® themes and how they are applied throughout the project
• Understand the PRINCE2® processes and how they are carried out throughout the project

Practitioner Level:

• Apply the PRINCE2® principles in context
• Apply and tailor relevant aspects of PRINCE2® themes in context
• Apply and tailor relevant aspects of PRINCE2® processes in context

Foundation Level:

The Foundation level requires no previous training or experience.

Practitioner Level:

The Practitioner level requires a Foundation-level knowledge and certificate; experience in the area of project management will be highly beneficial.
